Law Firm Marketing Strategies Help Attract New Clients into the Fold

A law practice needs to better present itself as the voice of clients for various legal matters. In today’s wired world, this includes expanded efforts over the Internet. Larry Alton of the Digital Journal said that what goes on over the Internet matters when something emerges that either uplifts or maligns the law practice and any of its employees. A 2012 study revealed that around three-fourths of its respondent attorneys confirmed that they browsed online for any word about them while nearly half engaged some clients over official social media accounts. Many law firms nowadays make it a point to establish a proper website to put more of their name out to potential clients. If you’re an independent lawyer or a newly-established partner practice that is ready to prove worthy of representation, you need the services of law firm marketing providers like Vantage Legal Marketing.

Effective Ways to Market a Law Firm

Unlike the majority of services, legal representation requires a rather complex form of marketing. Besides having to look for potential clients, a new attorney, in particular, has to prove his or her reliability and competence. Newly certified lawyers may have to go to lengths to prove themselves more than their older colleagues have to; nonetheless, through efficient marketing, the odds for success of an upstart attorney or a law firm can increase dramatically.

Address the Clients’ Needs

Unsurprisingly, startup law firms have limited resources and connections, and it’s this limitation that usually distracts them. They begin to focus on what they can’t do and present those limitations to their clients before even listening to them attentively. It’s imperative for lawyers to listen first and concentrate on their clients’ concerns, fully understanding their clients’ issues —the better for lawyers to focus on finding the right solutions.

Effective Law Firm Marketing: Why Your Online Reputation Matters Most

When was the last time you Googled yourself or the name of your law firm? If it’s been a while since you’ve last done so, do it right now. Whatever you see right now is exactly what other web users will see. Are you proud to let potential clients see these results? As with any other business or service, potential clients pay attention to the online reviews law firms accumulate over the years. After all, no one wants to work with a lawyer with a reputation of being “difficult to work with” or “not listening to clients”. In fact, one scathing review on Yelp or any other review site can easily undermine the hard work you’ve done to build your law firm—regardless of whether you are the number 1-ranked search result on Google or not.

“Caring Lawyer”: Use This Term with Care

Most clients want the sort of lawyer who cares about the outcome of their case. Unfortunately, virtually every lawyer can lay claim to that description.

Many law firms keep saying they "care" for their clients’ welfare, but what does that even mean? The word has different meanings depending on the context. If your law firm really cares, does it deliver the results for the value as advertised? Why not simply say that you're a law firm that cares about results for value? That should sound more acceptable and realistic.
